Spillemyndigheden, the Danish gambling regulator, has reported that gambling revenue in 2023 increased by 1% to 6.8 billion Danish kroner (€912 million). Online casinos accounted for 45.28% of all revenues, representing a 5.95% increase compared to 2022.
Sports betting generated DKK 2.180 billion, marking a 5.91% decrease from the previous year.
According to the regulator's report, as of December 2023, 46,152 individuals were registered in the ROFUS self-exclusion system. Of these, just over 30 thousand have an indefinite ban on gambling, while another 15 thousand have a temporary ban. Gamblers most frequently engaged in online casino play (41.7%) and online betting (33.7%).
