Detroit Casinos See Strong March Revenue

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Detroit's three casinos collectively generated $123.86 million in revenue in March. This figure represents a 3.8% year-over-year increase from the $122.26 million reported in the same period last year, with revenue primarily driven by card games and slot machines.

Breaking down the market share, MGM Grand Detroit led with 46%, followed by MotorCity casino at 31%, and Hollywood Casino in Greektown at 23%. Despite MGM's slight decline in revenue by 4.1% to $56.65 million, MotorCity saw a notable increase of 7.2% to $38.35 million. Conversely, Hollywood Casino experienced a modest decrease of 1.4% to $27.26 million.

In terms of contributions to the state, all three casinos collectively paid $9.9 million in gambling taxes to Michigan in March, showing a slight uptick from the $9.5 million recorded in the corresponding month last year.
