FanDuel earned $4.9 million in Washington in a month

In its first full month of operation as the official sports betting platform of the Washington Office of Lottery and Gaming (OLG), FanDuel generated $4.9 million in revenue.

The bookmaker said it accepted $29.7 million in bets in May, about 450% more than GambetDC.

On April 15, FanDuel officially entered the Washington market and earned almost five million dollars in a month. Revenue was calculated by subtracting the player's winnings from the total number of bets placed during the month.

In Washington, FanDuel's monthly betting revenue exceeds the combined total of all other operators from any previous month.

Despite maintaining its kiosks in the city, GambetDC's presence in the US capital dwindled as it only generated $189,095 in revenue from $898,671 in bets, with players winning approximately $709,576. In contrast, FanDuel players walked away with a total of $24.9 million.

It seems that the situation at GambetDC can only get worse. FanDuel has already said it will replace betting kiosks at 63 lottery stores across Washington, so it appears GambetDC's time is limited.

The GambetDC app remains available to players, but they can no longer use it to place sports bets. Existing customers have until October 15 to withdraw their remaining funds from the platform.
