FanDuel Made $23M in June, $10M in Two Weeks of August

FanDuel's brief tenure as Washington's exclusive digital sports betting provider came to an end after generating $23.2 million in June and nearly $10 million in the first two weeks of July, according to its DC earnings report.

During its three months of exclusive operation in the District, FanDuel recorded 1.9 million wagers. In contrast, GamBetDCā€™s digital platform and kiosks saw 1.3 million wagers placed from October 2023 through July 2024.

FanDuel's revenue for this three-month period reached $78.5 million, while bettors won $65.5 million, resulting in a profit of $13 million for the company. Additionally, it contributed $4.5 million in taxes to the city during this time. It's worth noting that in June, major operators BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook were restricted to accepting digital bets only within two blocks of sports venues.

However, by mid-July, they received authorisation from regulators to eliminate these geo-fences, allowing them to operate throughout the entire county.
