Evoke has announced the acquisition of New Gambling Solutions S.R.L (NGS) and its Romanian subsidiary, Winner.ro. The company, which also owns brands such as William Hill, 888, and Mr Green, will invest €10 million and shift some of its operations to Romania in exchange for a 51% share of the company's revenue. Additionally, Evoke will have the option to fully acquire NGS within three years.
Plans moving forward involve merging Evoke's 888.ro brand with Winner.ro to establish a regional player boasting a combined market share of approximately 7%. The new venture will be led by Winner's current CEO, Niklas Seidel.
"This is an excellent opportunity that brings our brand together with one of the most formidable international names in the industry. Romania is a rapidly expanding market, and this position will enhance our leadership. Winner has an exceptional team, and I'm eager to collaborate with them," he remarked.
It's worth noting that Winner.ro was launched in 2019 and has since opened about 20,000 retail outlets, recording €19 million in revenue during the first half of 2024.
Evoke believes it has a strong grasp of the Romanian market's potential, and the acquisition of NGS aligns perfectly with its growth strategy. This deal will make Romania Evoke's fifth significant market, alongside the UK, Italy, Spain, and Denmark.
