French gambling regulator La Française des Jeux (FDJ) has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2024, revealing a total revenue of €710 million. This figure represents a notable 7% increase compared to the €662 million reported in the same period last year. However, when considering like-for-like comparisons, revenue growth amounted to a modest 1.1%.
The growth in gaming revenue within France itself reached 3%, totaling €645 million for the quarter. Online gaming contributed significantly to FDJ's overall quarterly revenue, amounting to €100 million and representing 15% of total gambling revenue.
Remarkably, the most substantial growth was observed in other activities, such as payments and services, as well as international operations. This segment witnessed an impressive 77.4% surge, rising from €37 million in Q1 2023 to €65 million this year. These financial results indicate FDJ's continued growth trajectory and diversification efforts within the gambling industry.
