According to CFRA expert Zachary Warring, Macau's casino operators are poised to surpass their counterparts in Las Vegas if the region's footfall continues to grow. Warring highlighted that Macau's hotel and casino operators have faced significant challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the easing of restrictions has led to a surge in visitation.
The economic growth of Macau's casino operators is expected to continue, positioning them to potentially outperform their counterparts in Las Vegas, known as the gambling capital of the world.
Warring pointed out that casino visitation rates in Macau increased nearly 400% year-over-year in 2023. While this exceptional rebound signals a recovery in visitation, last year's figures were still only 71.6% of those recorded in 2019, reflecting the lingering impact of the pandemic.
