According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada experienced a significant uptick in gaming revenue in February, reaching $1.34 billion, marking a 9% increase from the previous month. A notable contributor to this growth was revenue generated from card games, which surged by 24% to $514.6 million. In contrast, revenue from slot machines saw a marginal increase of 0.6%, totaling $827.6 million.
While gaming revenue showed a positive trend, taxable income in Nevada saw a slight decline of 2%, amounting to $1.17 billion. Las Vegas, a major hub for gaming activities, reported total winnings surpassing $800 million, marking a 17% increase compared to February 2023 and a 12% rise from January 2024.
Baccarat emerged as the top-performing card game in terms of profitability, raking in a total income of $180.5 million. The revenue generated from baccarat witnessed a remarkable surge of 82% year-over-year in February, and an 86% increase since January. Analysts attribute this growth to the escalating popularity of card games within the Las Vegas gaming scene.
