According to the latest monthly report from the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), casinos in Nevada reported a total revenue of $1.2 billion for the month of August.
The report shows that total casino revenue for the month was up 0.07% from the previous year, but down 14.3% from the record $1.4 billion reported in June. This marks the 30th consecutive month that casinos and betting Parlors have brought in more than $1 billion in revenue.
As for Strip area revenues, they totalled nearly $666.8 million, down 1.3 percent from the same month last year and down 20 percent from the previous month, when the Strip set a record.The report also indicates a 3.4% decline in slot machine revenue, but a 7.1% increase in table game revenue. Growth was particularly notable in the baccarat category, where revenues increased 24% month-over-month to $22.1 million.
Total gaming revenues for the first eight months of 2023 are up 3.6% year-over-year, which can be expected to exceed last year's record total revenue of $14.8 billion for the calendar year.
