The gambling department of the U.S. state of Colorado published the data on the profits of the gambling industry in October. In the second month of autumn, state’s residents spent $554.9 million on sports betting. Most of the bets were made through mobile apps, they accounted for $550 million, and the rest of the orders were received by local bookmakers.
The main part of the bets fell on professional football and basketball. So, in October, the Coloradans put a total of $185.2 million on football, another $51.8 million went to competitions held by the National Collegiate Sports Association (NCAA). Basketball is in third place with $63.39 million.
Express bets were very popular with $117 million was spent on them.
