In February, the Ukrainian gambling industry contributed significantly to the country's tax revenue, reporting a total of 2.2 billion hryvnia in taxes, a notable 370% surge compared to the same period in 2023. January witnessed the sector paying 400 million hryvnia in taxes, with February seeing a substantial increase to 1.8 billion hryvnia.
The Ministry of Finance's report highlights that the overall taxes, fees, and obligatory payments to the general fund of Ukraine's state budget in February amounted to 184.8 billion hryvnia, marking a 65.4% increase from January.
In 2023, the gambling industry's tax contributions to the Ukrainian budget reached 10.4 billion hryvnia, showcasing a significant upturn compared to the figures of 2021 and 2022. Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, emphasized that tax revenue from the gambling business in 2023 was 51 times higher than that of 2021 and 14 times more than in 2022.
