The American Gaming Association (AGA) has published its revenue report for July, revealing that the industry generated a record $5.7 billion during this period. Additionally, gaming revenue for the year-to-date has increased by 7.2% compared to 2023, totaling $41.2 billion. The combined revenue from betting and iGaming surged by 35.4% to $1.48 billion, with online gaming representing over a quarter (25.9%) of total commercial revenue in July, up from 19.7% in July 2023.
However, revenue from table games fell by 15.3% to $827.4 million, largely due to renovations in Nevada, which led to a sharp decline in baccarat sales on the Las Vegas Strip compared to the previous year. Among the 27 states that permit traditional slot machine gaming, only six saw revenue growth compared to July 2023.
Year-over-year, gaming revenue rose by 32.5% to $669.8 million. In the first half of 2024, this sector generated $4.64 billion, marking a 26.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
