The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has instructed internet service providers to block access to 12 gambling sites. This action follows a law enforcement investigation revealing that these websites were in violation of the Online Gambling Act 2001.
Among the blocked sites are Playzilla, Wazamba, Zet Casino, and Slots Palace. Notably, Clash.gg, which not only features roulette but also a store for multiplayer shooters, was included in the list.
Since ACMA initiated requests to block online casinos in November 2019, around 926 websites and their affiliates have been designated as prohibited. The regulator notes that over 220 illegal services have exited the Australian gambling market since then.
