The Belgian Gambling Regulator (CJH) will begin holding annual meetings with licensed operators to discuss player protection measures, following recent amendments to the gambling law. These changes will also raise the age of legal participation in gambling from 18 to 21 years, specifically concerning offenses involving minors.
Starting June 1, 2024, the regulator will include reports on these meetings in its annual report. Additionally, the amendments require operators of Class I and II establishments and stationary Class IV establishments to maintain a register of specialists. This register will document professionals visiting gaming rooms for work purposes. Both the register and CCTV footage will be available for review by police officers and CJH staff.
