A study by FM3 Research indicates that Californians are not interested in legalizing sports betting. According to a survey among state residents, only 13% expressed support for making betting a legal form of entertainment, while 17% showed some degree of support. Conversely, 46% of Californians strongly opposed sports betting.
FM3 Research clarified that while the results show moderate interest in legalizing sports betting, the majority of state voters are against the initiative.
Last year, California authorities tried twice to support sports betting, but the decisions did not gain majority support. This year, there were two more bills – a law on sports betting and a law on gambling regulation. The final decision on these initiatives will be made on December 1.
