The Dutch gambling regulatory authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has imposed a weekly fine of €280,000 on the online casino Sarah Eternal for operating without a license. The company has been offering gambling services through the CasinoSky platform without the necessary authorization. Failure to cease these violations could result in the KSA escalating the fines, up to a maximum of €840,000.
KSA inspectors were able to access CasinoSky.com, deposit funds, and place bets illegally, prompting the regulator to take action and issue the fine. The Netherlands maintains a regulated gambling market to ensure better player protection and will continue to crackdown on illegal operators.
In April, the Dutch House of Representatives voted to prohibit "high-risk" online gambling activities, including slot machines, and also approved a ban on targeted online gambling advertisements.
