Consulting firm Fox Williams, under the leadership of partners Andrew Hill and Matthew Rich, has announced its intention to launch a class action lawsuit against gambling giant Entain.
The lawsuit alleges that Entain knowingly withheld information about bribery and corruption in Turkey involving its subsidiary, Headlong Limited, from investors, which is a violation of the UK Bribery Act.
Fox Williams' announcement comes months after Entain entered into a deferred prosecution agreement (DPA) with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in relation to bribery offences.
The Supreme Court ultimately approved the DPA and Entain agreed to pay a fine and forfeit the company's profits totaling £585 million. In addition, the company was required to make a charitable donation of £20 million and contribute £10 million towards legal costs.
