The Dutch gambling regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has announced the finalized schedule for the implementation of its new Responsible Gaming Policy. The majority of the changes will take effect on June 3, with the remaining amendments scheduled for October 2024.
Originally slated for May, the implementation was delayed to allow for comprehensive feedback from all stakeholders in the gaming industry. Articles 3.1.12 and 3.1.13, pertaining to the analysis and recording of gaming behavior and intervention strategies, will be deferred until October 1, 2024.
In line with its Safe Play mission, which aims to bolster player protection, KSA introduced a new oversight program earlier this year. The strategy encompasses four key areas: combating illegal online gambling, supporting industry partners, preventing gambling addiction, and ensuring compliance with regulations regarding the timely provision of data.
