The New Jersey Division of Gambling Enforcement (NJDGE) has concluded its case against online casino provider Evolution. The legal proceedings originated in November 2021 when allegations were made that Evolution games were sourced from countries subject to U.S. trade sanctions. The law firm Calcagni & Kanefsky LLP reported the alleged violation to New Jersey regulators.
Evolution representatives asserted that the games were being distributed by an unidentified third party attempting to discredit the company. Evolution collaborates with regulators and operators to implement content blocking tools for residents of specific countries, including Sudan, Iran, and Syria. The prolonged legal battle over three years resulted in a substantial loss of revenue for Evolution, jeopardizing its existence.
After conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations, NJDGE has chosen not to take any action against Evolution, declaring the matter concluded.
