Despite the challenges, the European Gaming and Betting Association has expressed support for Norway's introduction of a new licensing system.
Norway's parliamentary legislation, set by the Storting, is considered one of the strictest in Europe. The country maintains a state gambling monopoly, where only Norsk Rikstoto (for lotteries) and Norsk Tipping (for online casinos and betting) are authorized to provide iGaming services.
