Ohio Lottery hit by serious ransomware

Ohio Lottery in the United States fell victim to a significant ransomware attack affecting the Super Retailers lottery. This cyber incident compelled the operator to take several systems offline, resulting in the compromise of confidential data belonging to millions of users.

On December 24, the lottery issued a press release acknowledging a "cybersecurity attack" that led to the disruption of "certain internal applications." Law enforcement is actively investigating the matter, and efforts have been made to restore the gaming system.

Despite these actions, users are reporting ongoing difficulties in withdrawing funds from their lottery accounts and claiming prizes exceeding $599. Additionally, the winning numbers for KENO, Lucky One, and EZPLAY jackpots remain inaccessible on the company's website and mobile application.
