As part of a plan to work more closely with international bodies, the Swedish Gambling Authority and the Gambling Commission met to discuss responsible gambling and match-fixing.
The Swedish organization Spelinspektionen visited the UK to meet with Sportradar and the UK Gambling Commission.The Spelinspektionen delegation included Fredrik Lindqvist, compliance officer; Patrik Gustavsson, head of operations; and investigators Samuel Wahlberg and Daniel Bergman.They first visited Sportradar, a London-based company that collects and analyzes sports data for Spelinspektionen and monitors sporting events in Sweden in search of suspected match-fixing.
Spelinspektionen then visited the UK Gambling Commission in Birmingham to share its experience in regulating gambling and countering unfair sports betting. During the visit, Patrik Gustavsson emphasized the importance of cooperation with international authorities in creating healthy and safe conditions in the gambling market.Representatives of both organizations discussed methods of combating illegal gambling and looked at ways to improve international cooperation.
Earlier Sweden joined the Macolin Convention.
