The UK Gambling Commission and the Swedish national regulator, Spelinspektionen, have extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on information sharing. This agreement, initially signed in 2019, outlines the collaboration between the two regulatory bodies in regulating the gambling industry.
The MoU focuses on establishing a common understanding of legitimate interests and facilitating collaboration on areas of mutual political interest in the gambling sector. Similar agreements are in place between Spelinspektionen and regulatory authorities in Malta, the Netherlands, and Gibraltar.
Camilla Rosenberg, the Director-General of the Swedish regulator, emphasized the common areas of interest between the two countries' markets. She highlighted the potential for mutual learning and experience exchange, aiming to create a "healthy and safe gambling market" through collaborative efforts.
