Wyoming officials have declined to entertain the legalization of online casinos during the current legislative session. The proposed gambling law, House Bill 120, failed to pass in the House of Representatives, receiving fewer than 42 votes in favor.
Had it been approved, House Bill 120 would have empowered the state Gaming Commission to issue up to five operator licenses. Senators Robert Davis and John Conrad were the authors of the initiative, emphasizing that the bill aimed to eliminate the illegal gambling market in the state, providing residents with protection from unverified operators.
While Wyoming had previously legalized online sports betting in 2021, senators who opposed the bill drew comparisons with online betting permits, resulting in the majority voting against its consideration.
