BetMGM has secured the role of official sponsor for the Premier Darts League in the upcoming 2024 season. This sponsorship deal follows the success of the World Championships organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in 2023, which significantly boosted the sport's popularity in the UK.
The Chief Executive of PDC, Matt Porter, expressed excitement about the partnership, anticipating that the Premier League would gain extensive viewership globally over the four-month period. The addition of BetMGM as a title sponsor is seen as a positive development for the competition, where players will be competing for a substantial prize fund of £1 million.
The tournament is scheduled to run for 17 evenings, featuring mini-events among the top eight athletes. The competition format culminates in playoffs where the four winners from the final league table will conclude the season.
