Dutch cycling tournament organizers Tour de Tietema, in collaboration with bookmaker Unibet, have initiated a promotional campaign, "Follow Your Heart," aimed at raising awareness about heart disease. The promotion is particularly pertinent as cardiovascular diseases are prevalent among athletes, leading some cyclists to prematurely end their careers due to health issues.
Dedicated to the memory of 20-year-old cyclist Mark Grunewald, who tragically passed away from cardiac arrest in October 2023, a day after a cycling race in China, the initiative aims to shed light on heart problems in the sports community. TDT-Unibet, the cycling team organizing the event, emphasizes the importance of knowing how to respond in case of a cardiac event. The team will compete in a specially designed uniform with the campaign slogan "Follow your heart" prominently displayed on the chest. Visitors can scan the QR code associated with the promotion to access information on performing CPR in case of a heart attack.
