Ciaran Carruthers to Resign as CEO of Crown Resorts

Crown Resorts CEO Ciaran Carruthers will resign from his position, effective September 1. While he will be stepping down from his role, Carruthers will continue to serve as a consultant for one of the leading companies in the hotel and gaming industry.

Starting next quarter, David Tsai, the current president and chief operating officer, will take over as interim CEO until a permanent replacement is appointed.

“I am thrilled to pass on a robust and successful business to my successor. However, I want to emphasise that there is still much work ahead,” Carruthers stated in his announcement.

Carruthers joined Crown Resorts in September 2022 and has been instrumental in enhancing the company's operations while successfully maintaining all gaming licences. His tenure also saw significant changes, including the introduction of cashless gaming and the launch of Crown PlaySafe, a unique initiative aimed at minimising gambling-related harm.
