Entain chairman Barry Gibson has revealed plans to retire this year, with Stella David, the operator's interim chief executive, set to succeed him.
Gibson expressed gratitude for his time leading the board of Entain, describing it as dynamic, exciting, and innovative. He noted that he had anticipated his retirement in 2024 and believes it's the right time to step down. Gibson is slated to retire from his position as chairman and from the board of directors by September 2024, although his departure could occur earlier, contingent on the appointment of a permanent CEO.
Highlighting Stella David's qualifications, Gibson praised her deep understanding of the business and her exceptional performance as interim CEO. David's familiarity with the company and proven leadership make her an excellent candidate for the role.
Barry Gibson joined Entain's board of directors in November 2019 and assumed the role of chairman in February 2020. His tenure has been marked by significant contributions to the company's growth and success.
