Andy Wright has announced his departure from his role as senior vice president of trading at the renowned betting giant, Fanatics Betting and Gaming (FBG). Wright had joined Fanatics in May 2022, transitioning from his previous role as chief trading officer at KingMakers.
Under Wright's leadership, Fanatics made significant strides, including the successful launch of its sportsbook in January 2023. The company achieved a significant milestone by opening its inaugural retail sportsbook at FedExField in Maryland, marking the first instance of a sports betting operator launching within a National Football League stadium. Subsequently, FBG expanded its footprint across the United States and ventured into the online casino realm with a successful launch in November 2023.
Wright played a pivotal role in FBG's strategic acquisitions, notably the acquisition of PointsBet's US business for $225 million. Reflecting on his departure, Wright expressed a desire to take a break and prioritize spending time with family before embarking on new professional endeavors.
