FanDuel, a prominent betting and online casino operator, has enlisted E. Sequoia Simermeyer, the former chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC). Simermeyer's resignation from the NIGC was announced last week, and it became effective on February 24.
Although the NIGC did not disclose Simermeyer's future plans, reports from SportsHandle suggest that he has joined FanDuel as the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. Simermeyer will be working alongside experts in US tribal casinos, including Frank Sizemore and Ricky Tanenbaum.
Expressing his satisfaction with joining FanDuel, Simermeyer mentioned that this marks his first venture into the private sector. He emphasized the importance of joining a team where he could leverage his regulatory chair and legislative staffer experience.
