Nicolo Fagioli, a midfielder for Serie A club Juventus and the Italian national team, is set to return to the field after serving a gambling ban. Fagioli made his first appearance for Juventus following his suspension in a match against Bologna on May 20.
The investigation into Fagioli's involvement in bookmaking activities commenced at the end of August. Italian authorities conducted a preliminary probe to trace his movements and uncover betting details, including whether he placed bets on football matches or used illegal platforms. Once evidence was found, Fagioli received a one-year suspension from football, which could be reduced if specific criteria were met—and so it was.
Part of the conditions for reducing his ban required the football player to undergo treatment for gambling addiction for a minimum of six months.
