Kambi Group has named Werner Becher, previously with Sportradar, as its new CEO. He will assume the position on July 25th following the release of the group's second-quarter results.
Becher will replace Christian Nylen, who has worked in this position for 14 years, in the high chair. Kambi Group Chairman Anders Ström called Becher “an exceptionally suitable successor to Christian Nylen.”
Ström expressed confidence that Werner's extensive industry experience, strong entrepreneurial spirit, proven business acumen, and exceptional passion make him the ideal candidate to lead Kambi into a new era.
Becher, for his part, stressed that he is honored to become CEO of Kambi, saying he has the “utmost respect and admiration” for the business.
Werner Becher is a seasoned executive with a background in leading companies in the sports industry. He most recently held the position of CEO at Sportradar and prior to that was the CEO of Interwetten for seven successful years. Becher has also founded two technology consulting firms, Adesso Austria and Cob@Web, in addition to his time at DXC Technology.
Now, with new leadership, Kambi will begin to redefine its product suite, moving from a one-stop solution to a modular one. In addition to sports betting, the company will offer other products.
As a reminder, for the first quarter Kambi Group's revenue amounted to 43.2 million euros, which is 1.8% less than the 44.0 million euros that Kambi reported in the first quarter of last year. However, the company plans to generate revenue in the range of 170 to 180 million euros in 2024.
