The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has announced the appointment of lawyer Vilma Eisma as its new President and Chief Operating Officer. Eisma takes over from Juanito Sanzosa Jr., who resigned from the position in January. Her appointment has been confirmed by PAGCOR, and she has assumed her new role from PAGCOR Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Prior to her appointment at PAGCOR, Eisma served as the first female administrator and chairperson of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. She brings with her a wealth of experience from senior management positions in PMFTC, the Philippine subsidiary of Philip Morris International, as well as in the Department of Trade and Industry.
According to PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro Tengco, Eisma's extensive experience in both the public and private sectors will be invaluable to the organization. Her appointment comes at a significant time for PAGCOR, as it embarks on the privatization of its casinos, a plan slated for completion by the end of 2025. This move will allow the organization to focus on supporting those affected by the privatization process.
