Svenska Spel, the state-owned gambling operator in Sweden, has chosen Anna Johnson to succeed the current CEO, Patrick Hofbauer, who had previously announced his resignation, set to take effect in February 2024.
Representatives from the operator explained that the incoming CEO, Anna Johnson, holds a master's degree in economics and brings a wealth of financial expertise to the role. Additionally, Johnson currently serves as the CEO of the consulting firm Grant Thornton, specializing in accounting, a position she has held for the past seven years.
Following his tenure at Svenska Spel, Patrick Hofbauer is slated to join the Swedish telecommunications company Telia. During the transitional period, Erik Strand, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the operator, will assume the responsibilities, emphasizing the strength of the supervisory authority and highlighting the positive state of the Swedish gaming industry, offering customers an engaging and secure gaming experience at casinos.
