Americans spent a record amount on betting - almost $92 billion

A report from the American Gaming Association (AGA) reveals a remarkable surge in the US gaming industry, with Americans setting a new record by spending nearly $92 billion on betting. Compared to the previous year, there was a significant increase of 33% in the number of bets made by residents.

The volume of sports betting alone reached an impressive $91.98 billion, hinting that the betting industry might surpass the $100 billion milestone by the year's end. Anticipated legalization of sports betting in states like Texas, Florida, and California is expected to contribute to further revenue growth in 2024, according to experts.

In the month of October, the US commercial gaming industry achieved a revenue of $5.63 billion. Analysts view this as a noteworthy accomplishment, encompassing revenue generated from traditional casinos, sports betting, and online gambling.
