BetMGM, Caesars goes live in Washington, D.C. after slight delay

BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook have now entered the Washington, DC market after previously being limited to exclusion zones. Originally scheduled to begin operations on July 15, a delay caused by the city budget 2025 signing pushed back their launch by 2 days.

Thanks to provisions in the budget aimed at promoting competition and breaking up monopolies, BetMGM and Caesars can now join FanDuel in offering their platforms in the nation's capital.

BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said the company is looking forward to a county-wide rollout after three years of fighting for the right to wait.

Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital, said the company's expansion into Washington "will only enhance" the gaming experience for fans. He also thanked Bowser and the Washington Council "for their leadership in sports betting."
