Betr to pay out record sum after launching 100-1 promotion

Australian online bookmaker Betr is preparing to pay out a historically large sum as a promotion after the Penrith Panthers won the NRL Grand Final on Sunday.

When Betr launched last year, they launched a promotion for customers offering odds of 100/1 on the winner's choice of major sporting events including the NRL, AFL, NBA, and World Cup. Although the bet amount was capped at A$10, over 320,000 customers took advantage of the offer. Most of them picked the Penrith Panthers as the winners of the NRL Grand Final.

"The Panthers were Favorites to start the NRL season and picked up their third straight win, coming back from a 16-point deficit to win 26-24 on Sunday. Betr is now prepared to pay a record A$72 million (€43.8 million/46.3 million).
