Colombian Regulator and Chocó Government Join Forces Against Illegal Betting
Colombia's gaming regulator, Coljuegos, and the government of the Chocó department have formed a partnership to tackle illegal betting. This initiative is part of broader efforts to disrupt criminal networks funded by illegal gambling while supporting the legal gambling industry.
Marco Emilio Jincapie, president of Coljuegos, stated, “Chocó department faces significant social needs. Therefore, we are committed to combating illegal activities and ensuring healthcare resources reach the areas that need them most.”
Governor Carolina Cordova emphasized that the agreement with the regulator presents an opportunity to collectively combat lawlessness and corruption. She highlighted the necessity for the government to allocate sufficient effort and resources to combat the monopoly of illegal sports betting.
