Danish Regulator Blocks 83 Illegal Gambling Sites

Denmark's gambling authority, Spillemyndigheden, has successfully blocked access to 83 websites operating without the required operator's license. The Naestved court has deemed this action legal, following the regulator's decision to restrict access, initiated in 2023. This marks a record number of sites blocked simultaneously in Denmark.

Among the banned resources are well-known sites like 1bet.com, cobracasino.com, kingbilly.com, and others. Spillemyndigheden had previously requested the blockage of 82 web resources in 2022.

Anders Dorf, the director of the regulator, emphasized that efforts to cleanse the country's gambling market from illegally operating operators will continue, with the regulator now blocking such resources twice a year instead of once.

“We will be able to minimize the period during which Danish gamers are faced with illegal gambling,” Dorf stated.
