UK operators spent more than £100 million to fight gambling addiction

The four largest gambling operators in the UK committed £100 million in 2020 to fund research on responsible gambling and treatment for gambling addiction. Initially, the plan was to contribute this amount between June 2020 and March 2024.

However, Bet365, Entain, Evoke, and Flutter Entertainment increased their contribution to £122.5 million to combat gambling addiction. In addition, they pledged £10 million towards a youth gambling prevention initiative, which currently supports over two million young individuals aged 11 to 19 through programs such as YGAM and GamCare.

Other members of the BGC and licensed operators in the UK also contributed tens of millions of pounds, bringing the total industry contribution to gambling research and recovery to £172.5 million.
