DraftKings May Sell Vegas Sports Information Network
DraftKings is exploring the sale of VSiN, a betting-centric network that it purchased for $70 million in March 2021.
Eilers & Krejcik Gaming has suggested that Brent Musburger, founder of VSiN and a seasoned broadcast specialist, is the leading candidate to make a purchase. However, there has been no official confirmation from either party at this time.
Neither DraftKings nor VSiN have commented publicly on the potential for a sale, but if one were to occur, it would suggest that gambling companies are struggling to generate significant profits from media ventures.
Analysts have noticed similarities between the potential sale of VSiN and the previous sale of Barstool Sports, which was acquired by Penn Entertainment last year before returning to its founder Dave Portnoy for only one dollar.
Just a reminder, VSiN was established in 2017 and operates out of Circa Sportsbook and the D Hotel in downtown Las Vegas. With a focus on sports betting, the network provides extensive coverage, airing 18 hours of content every day and running a 24/7 channel.
VSiN's programming can be heard on iHeartRadio, TuneIn and various small radio stations throughout the United States. Additionally, VSiN content is available on other platforms including FuboTV and Sling TV.
