Record-Breaking Anticipation: US Super Bowl Bets Expected to Soar to $23.1 Billion

Bets on the upcoming National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl are anticipated to reach a staggering $23.1 billion, as reported by the American Gaming Association (AGA). The game, scheduled for February 11, will feature a face-off between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas.

According to a survey conducted by the AGA, this year's Super Bowl is expected to surpass the betting figures of the previous year by $16 billion. A record-breaking 67.8 million individuals are projected to participate in betting activities, reflecting a significant 35% increase from the 2023 Super Bowl. Notably, 42.7 million Americans plan to place bets through online sportsbooks, indicating a substantial 41% rise from the previous edition, while others intend to engage in betting with friends at brick-and-mortar bookmakers.

AGA President and CEO Bill Miller attributed the heightened interest in the match to its location, marking the first instance of the Super Bowl being hosted in Las Vegas.
