Sportradar Highlights Increasing Incidence of Match-Fixing

Sport technology analytics service Sportradar has issued a warning regarding the rising number of match-fixing incidents in Europe and Asia. The report identified 1,329 matches as suspicious, marking a 0.21% increase compared to the previous year.

The findings were released by Sportradar Integrity Services' integrity unit, revealing that 70 sports were under scrutiny, with a comprehensive analysis of 850,000 sporting events worldwide conducted throughout the year.

Football topped the list as the most "alarming" sport in terms of match-fixing, accounting for 880 suspicious matches. Basketball secured the second position with 205 matches, followed by table tennis with 70 games.

The statistics were compiled from an analysis of 11 sports across 105 countries. According to Sportradar, no sport exhibited a suspicious match rate exceeding 1%.
