The most popular sport for betting has been revealed
Betsson, GambleID and Sports Handle have released findings from a study on sports betting habits, revealing that over 50% of American gamblers place bets on a daily basis, while 33% bet weekly.
It is worth mentioning that the majority of bettors, 98%, are male, with individuals aged 25-34 making up 30% and those aged 35-44 accounting for 32% of the demographic who enjoy taking a gamble. Only 5% of those surveyed reported betting "occasionally," while just 2% bet on a monthly basis.
It turns out that players are loyal to several betting apps. The study results showed that 43% of gamers have downloaded more than five apps, while 21% have four to five apps and only 5% are loyal to one product.
81% of survey participants indicated a preference for point spread betting, while 69% favoured predicting the match outcome or winning team. Over/under bets were the third most popular choice, selected by 63% of respondents.
The monthly deposits of players often vary, with 37% setting aside approximately $100 for betting. Some participants, 10%, are willing to spend between $1,000 and $5,000, while 1% are comfortable with $10,000 or more. Additionally, 9% of respondents preferred not to disclose their betting budget.
Football emerged as the most favoured sport for betting, chosen by a whopping 92% of participants. Basketball came in second at 66%, followed by golf at 27%. On the other hand, eSports and boxing were the least popular options, each garnering only 1% of votes.
93% of respondents chose DraftKings as their top or most famous app, with FanDuel coming in second with 92% of the votes. Caesars Sportsbook was followed by 89%.
