Cambodian Prime Minister Orders Inspection of Gambling Establishments

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has instructed governors to conduct a nationwide audit of all gambling establishments in the country. He urged municipal authorities to "take immediate action to control gambling" at the regional level.

The Prime Minister also mandated the reporting of any newly opened casinos, pledging to take measures to revoke licenses across the provinces. Manet called on authorities and businesses to invest in infrastructure and agriculture, discouraging them from "diverting the attention of residents to the creation of gambling establishments."

Cambodian citizens are prohibited from participating in gambling; access to casinos and similar establishments is restricted to foreigners. The most well-known gambling venue in the country is NagaWorld, located in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.
