FanDuel Sued Over TikTok Software

FanDuel is facing a lawsuit regarding its purported utilisation of TikTok software. A complaint submitted in California District Court claims that the prominent sports betting operator employed software to track anonymous users.

According to NEXT.io, TikTok's software harnesses advanced technology to gather data on anonymous users and cross-reference it with existing TikTok information. This allegedly enabled FanDuel to monitor the online activities of users who may have sought anonymity.

The lawsuit further asserts that this tracking process begins the moment a customer accesses FanDuel's website, even before they are prompted to consent to cookies. It claims that the operator failed to inform users about the use of this tracking tool, as well as about its alleged collaboration with the Chinese government to acquire users’ phone numbers and other personal information.

As of now, FanDuel's parent company, Flutter Entertainment, has not issued an official response regarding the allegations.
