Indonesia blocked more than 10 thousand gambling sites in 2023
In 2023, Indonesia has blocked over 10,000 sites associated with online gambling, casinos, or sports betting, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The police have taken measures to restrict access to a total of 10,056 internet resources.
In November, law enforcement authorities in Indonesia disclosed the blocking of more than 4,000 bank accounts linked to illegal gambling operations. Over the past five years alone, the country has imposed restrictions on access to over 800,000 materials related to gambling.
Gambling is strictly prohibited in Indonesia, applying to both locals and foreigners. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has committed to maintaining close surveillance of compliance with gambling legislation and suppressing any attempts to violate it.
