KSA Partners with CloudFlare to Combat Illegal Gambling Developers
The Dutch Gambling Authority (Kansspelautoriteit, KSA) has forged an alliance with CloudFlare, a leading provider of cyber data protection and secure internet access solutions, in a concerted effort to tackle illegal gambling developers and unlicensed online casinos.
This strategic partnership comes on the heels of previous directives that were found to be technically flawed, prompting discussions and subsequent withdrawal of mandatory guidelines aimed at curbing illegal gambling activities. In a collaborative investigation led by KSA, CloudFlare specialists assisted in scrutinizing subsidiary websites, including nederlandscasinos.net and onlinecasinosspelen.com, to uncover illicit gambling operations. Despite efforts, the identities of the website owners remain shrouded in secrecy.
Under the terms of the newly formed agreements, KSA gains direct access to Cloudflare's resources, enabling the regulatory authority to swiftly obtain crucial information regarding the hosting parties behind illegal gambling providers. In the Netherlands, the sale of such content without proper licensing from the regulatory body is strictly prohibited, as is any form of promotion or encouragement of illicit gambling activities.
By leveraging CloudFlare's expertise and technological infrastructure, KSA aims to strengthen its enforcement efforts and root out illicit gambling operations, safeguarding the integrity of the Dutch gambling landscape and protecting consumers from unauthorized and potentially harmful gambling practices.
