One of key directors leaves Betway Group

Roger Parkes, a long-standing board member and compliance head at Betway Group, has announced his departure from the company after nearly a decade of service. A key figure within Betway Group described Parkes as feeling burnt out and in need of a break to recharge and contemplate his next career move.

Parkes initially joined Betway in July 2015 as the Head of Compliance in London, showcasing outstanding dedication and expertise in his role. His impressive track record led to a relocation to Malta in June 2018, where he was promoted to Director responsible for overseeing various critical aspects such as regulatory compliance, licencing, customer welfare, and the KYC program.

When leaving his post, Parkes thanked his colleagues and noted that he immediately appreciated the potential of Betway, and over time made his contribution to the development of the company. “I am proud to say that I have received continued support in building a highly effective and industry-respected compliance and gaming safety team,” said Parks.

Prior to taking on the influential role at Betway, Parks had a varied career in gambling and betting compliance. In particular, he worked for the Gambling Commission - first as a remote technical consultant, from July 2006, and then as a senior sector manager. He was also Chief Compliance Officer at Betfair for almost six years.
