GambleAware's Self-Assessment Tool Reaches Over 100,000 Users
GambleAware, a charity dedicated to providing problem gambling prevention and treatment services, has reported that its online self-assessment tool for gaming behavior has been utilized by over 100,000 users in its first year since launch. Out of these users, approximately 28,000, or one in four, subsequently sought further assistance.
The self-assessment tool offered by GambleAware presents users with a series of statements related to their gambling behavior. Users are prompted to rate the extent to which each statement applies to them on a scale of 1 to 10. Those seeking help can then contact the National Gambling Harm Support Network to receive appropriate treatment.
In light of this milestone, GambleAware emphasized the importance of prioritizing a comprehensive preventive approach, particularly with the impending announcement of the government's new system structure. The charity stressed the need for increased investment in free and confidential support services to address problem gambling effectively.
